Drew and I met in 2018 on a dating website (proof that sometimes online dating does work!). From the very first message, he had me laughing—he was so witty and easy to talk to that it felt like I’d known him forever. Our first date was at a Mexican restaurant, where we sat for over three hours talking and laughing so hard that the staff probably wondered if we were ever going to leave. Honestly, it was the best first date I’d ever had. A few months later, life got in the way and we went our separate ways… but not completely. Thanks to Snapchat, we stayed friends through out the years (and okay, I’ll admit it — I was creeping on his stories just to see what he was up to, and if he was still single?). Fast forward to November 2021: I decided to shoot my shot and sent him the most original message ever — “Hey, how are you doing?” He replied (thankfully), and this time it was my turn to ask him out on a date. And just like that, we picked up right where we left off. Sitting at Dannys parking lot until 5am talking, laughing and sharing stories. Drew proposed on my birthday, just before the dinner he had planned for us. After I finished getting ready and walked downstairs, I found him at the bottom of the stairs—down on one knee, holding our dog Max a hostage. All I could remember was Max disappearing from the scene and I see Drew holding the most beautiful ring in his hand. It took me a few seconds (and maybe a few happy tears) to process what was happening. Drew asked me to spend forever with him, and of course, I said yes! Here we are today — planning our happily ever after, with Max still very much part of the story, surrounded by the our amazing family and friends. We can't wait to celebrate this spacial day with you!
