Tyler and Taylor met in 6th grade. Taylor was new to the school and Tyler, being in the same class, introduced himself to her on the first day. They became good friends throughout middle school and high school, growing small crushes on each other here and there. Flash forward to freshman year of high school, Tyler finally got the courage to ask Taylor to the homecoming dance. She respectfully declined, or in Tylers words, "shut him down". Though his ego may have been a little bruised, they still remained good friends. The start of Junior year, Tyler and Taylor had chemistry class together. At this point, Taylor was beginning to grow more feelings for him. The teacher informed them that where they sat and who they sat by for the next class would be their lab partners for the rest of the semester. So the next day, Taylor took matters into her own hands. She walked into chemistry early, sat down and waited. When he walked in she said, "Tyler, you should sit by me!" Tyler ran over to sit by her with no hesitation. From that moment on, the start of their love story began to unfold. Tyler would do everything he could to make Taylor laugh and would draw little hearts and notes on her notebook. A few short weeks later, Tyler asked Taylor to homecoming, where she accepted this time; and he asked her to be his girlfriend right before they walked into the dance on October 21st, 2017. Taylor and Tyler graduated high school in 2019 together. The journeys they were both about to embark on were almost 3,000 miles apart from each other. Taylor went off to play college softball at Western and Tyler went to the East Coast to attend The United States Naval Academy and play sprint football. Though it may have seemed easier to go their separate ways, they both embraced the opportunity with open arms, supported each others accomplishments from afar, and made a promise to themselves that they would never give up on each other. Throughout those five years of long distance, they put their faith and trust in God, combined with many face-time calls, joyfully reuniting at the airport, and heavily leaned into the saying "distance makes the heart grow fonder". Tyler and Taylor graduated from their respected colleges in May and June of 2024. Taylor ended her softball career as a National Runner Up. That same weekend, Tyler graduated from the Naval Academy as a 2nd Lieutenant. Both their hard work, grit, and determination payed off and they were each others biggest cheerleaders from afar. In August, 2024, Tyler and his family surprised Taylor on her family trip to Cabo. The first day, Tyler proposed on the beach during family photos! It was the most magical beach engagement they could've ever dreamed of. The waves were crashing and the sun was setting with all their closest friends and family there to celebrate with them. Taylor and Tyler are so blessed and excited to celebrate their wedding day with all their loving friends and family and look forward to spending their forever together!
