While Vince was living in Hillsboro and Cameron had moved back in with their parents in Canby for grad school, the two met through mutual friends in a virtual Dungeons and Dragons group in September 2021. They became friends and in the summer of 2022, began spending more time together (going on many “not dates” such as day-long trips to the beach, lunch plans that turned into five-hour long chats, etc.). One evening, in November 2022, Cameron was driving Vince home and worked up the nerve to ask him if he would like to go on a date sometime. Vince nodded enthusiastically, and the two planned their first date for the following weekend. They went to the Portland Art Museum and Elephants Delicatessen. The rest is history.
