We met at St. Lawrence University basketball camp in the summer of 2015. We both still remember the first time we saw each other entering the Newell Field House.
Our proposal happened on a typical day for us. We were going for an afternoon stroll through our neighborhood when we ventured to check out a new park on the river near our apartment that had been under construction since we moved to Rochester. When we arrived, Chris bent down, to which Katie assumed was to tie his shoe, so she ALSO bent down to tie her shoe. It wasn't until several moments later when he finally got her attention that she realized that he was actually down on one knee to propose.
Together, we have called several places home. From Canton, to Plattsburgh, and now Rochester, we found it fitting to have the wedding in the same place we got engaged, at a venue we stumbled upon together long before the proposal.
