It was the summer of 1999 when two high school graduates embarked on their college journey at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. The pair may have arrived on campus at the same time, but their paths never crossed until 2003. One Fall day, the two finally laid eyes on one another, but never spoke. Alesha always says, “I don’t think David noticed me, but I sure did notice him!” Unashamedly vocal about her thoughts on this handsome young gentleman, she eagerly began asking their mutual friends about him. Eventually the grapevine worked its magic and the two started to spend countless hours together talking and laughing. Although they enjoyed each other’s company and shared many of the same interests, their time together was short lived. Alesha graduated in May 2003 and moved back home. David would follow up and graduate the next year. Fast forward 15 years later to October 17, 2015 when Morgan State and a little bit of fate would bring the two back together again. Despite the fact that they hadn’t called, texted, or Facebooked one another for over a decade, the two hit it off at homecoming just like old times. After learning that they both were single, the two decided to exchange numbers. David didn’t waste any time and gave Alesha a call to check up on her that very same evening. The two have been inseparable ever since. The 15 years apart allowed us to live life, learn from our past, and make decisions that would ultimately prepare the both of us to build a strong foundation full of trust, love, commitment and family after rekindling our relationship on that sunny afternoon in October 2015.
