Marisa and Frederick met on October 9, 2014, at a Mediterranean restaurant in San Francisco. When she arrived early and saw him waiting to cross the street she suddenly got very nervous - this man was just gorgeous! He was clean-cut, tall, dark, and handsome. Dinner went smoothly until he reached across the table to take a bite of her chicken without asking. Bold, bold move. In turn, she made a bold move as well by hiding in the bathroom only to emerge when the meal had been paid for. Then, they went to the California Academy of Sciences and had a blast walking arm-in-arm around the indoor rainforest and aquarium. Later they strolled around Golden Gate Park to find themselves standing by a gorgeous stone-carved fountain with color-changing lights. Frederick leaned down to kiss her, expecting a warm welcome, but instead found her finger wagging in his face saying, “It is way too soon for that.” Needless to say, things got awkward on their way home as they sat silently on different sides of the Uber. The next morning she texted him: “Thank you for a such fun night. I really loved our date, but I don’t want to see you again. You moved a little too fast for me. I’m sorry.” Hours passed, but eventually he responded with the kindest answer that melted her heart: “I’m really disappointed to hear that. I thought you and I really clicked. Would you please forgive me and give me a second chance?” Once she picked her jaw up off the floor she gratefully accepted and couldn’t wait to get to know him more. On their second date, they went for a hike on a perfect sunny day with wildlife roaming near the trails. When they finally reached the hilltop, they were met with stunning panoramic views of the Bay and sat down to soak it in. Yet again, they found themselves in a perfect romantic moment for a first kiss. Not surprisingly, he was never going to try to kiss her again. Realizing this she said, “You can kiss me now.” And 2 weeks later they became a couple and fell madly in love.
