In the midst of the pandemic, life began returning to normal in late June. Fraser and Julia happened to both be at their best friend's birthday party, stuck under a tent in the pouring rain...and the rest is history!
Fraser took Julia to the Salvation Cafe (RIP) in Newport, RI, for their first date where they talked and laughed for hours over pad thai. Fun fact: the first thing Julia said to Fraser when she arrived at his house was "Wow, it's so clean in here!"
On their five year anniversary, Fraser took Julia out on the boat for Folk Festival. They were going to listen to the music and go for a sail around Newport, then have dinner afterwards. What was already a beautiful day turned even more magical when they got back to shore and Fraser proposed at Ida Lewis Yacht Club. He arranged for his parents and a photographer to be there, ready to capture the moment! Julia was completely surprised and of course, said yes! They celebrated their engagement with a champagne toast at Castle Hill Inn!
