We met St. Patty's Day weekend in Dubuque, IA. I decided to travel with my matron of honor, Cindy, to visit her now husband, Trey. Trey lived in a house with 3 roommates and one of them invited Jake to visit for the weekend, to celebrate him getting into physical therapy school. When Jake introduced himself, I thought he said his name was Josh and he thought I said my name was Sarah. We were flirting the rest of the weekend and he told me he got accepted into physical therapy school in Maine, which is when Sierra thought, "Wow, he is cute, but not that cute to do long distance for," but he quickly changed my mind. When Sunday rolled around he was too afraid to ask for my number. 10 minutes after Cindy and I left to go back to Augustana, Cindy messaged Jake on facebook to give him my number and told him, "I think you'll need this." He accidentally called me and tried to play it off. Then we began our crazy journey through long distance!

Jacob proposed to Sierra! We moved into our first place together in Chicago and both of our parents helped us move. Once we got all moved in, everyone got ready for dinner and Jake asked Sierra to stay inside with Willow, their cat. Jake started to tear up and told Sierra how much he loved her. He told her the first memory he wanted to have in their new place was being each others fiances and the rest is history!
