Things To Do

We love our little corner of the world, and we can't wait to share some of our favorite places with you if you are traveling for the wedding. We live in Raphine, work in Stuarts Draft, and frequently pop into town in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Lexington. The two bigger cities around here are Charlottesville and Harrisonburg. Below we listed places for coffee and breakfast, our favorite restaurants, and all of the things that we love to do in the area.

Happ Coffee

1010 East Main Street, Waynesboro, VA 22980

Best place in Waynesboro for coffee and breakfast.

Reunion Bakery & Espresso

26 South New Street, Staunton, VA 24401

Excellent coffee and breakfast sandwiches, walkable from our recommended hotel.

The Green Leaf Grill

415 West Main Street, Waynesboro, VA 22980

Our all-time favorite restaurant. Tell Justin the bartender you're here for our wedding!

Willy's Ice Cream

2800 West Main Street, Waynesboro, VA 22980

Best ice cream in Waynesboro, hands down. When the weather is nice, we go here after a dinner at the Green Leaf.

Chicano Boy Taco

240 North Central Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401

Great place for lunch in Staunton!

Frank's Pizza

33 Soapy Place, Fairfield, VA 24435

Our favorite place for take out pizza.

Byers Street Bistro

18 Byers Street, Staunton, VA 24401

Good burgers and sandwiches, dog-friendly patio, walkable from our recommended hotel.

The Split Banana, Co.

7 West Beverley Street, Staunton, VA 24401

Great gelato, we love to grab some and walk around downtown after dinner.

Hikes We Like

Saint Mary's Falls, Crabtree Falls, Natural Bridge, Humpback Rocks, any hike in the National Park or Jefferson National Forrest If you are looking for more of a place to take a stroll, we love the Greenway in Waynesboro.

Shopping

Downtown Staunton, Downtown Lexington, Charlottesville

Thomas Jefferson's Monticello

1050 Monticello Loop, Charlottesville, VA 22902

If you are interested in the history of the area, give Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello, a look. The Shenandoah Valley has a rich history, and besides Monticello you can find many museums, battlefields, and historical cemeteries. Staunton is also home to the Frontier Culture Museum and the American Shakespeare Center's Blackfriars Playhouse.

Breweries and Wineries

Breweries, wineries, and cideries are huge around here. Some of our favorites are Devil's Backbone in Lexington, Rockbridge Vineyard and Brewery in Raphine, and Carter Mountain Apple Orchard in Charlottesville. Some good late night spots that are walkable from our recommended hotel are Baja Bean and Bricks Restaurant and Pub.

Staunton Farmers' Market

Byers Street, Staunton, VA 24401

Every Saturday morning we head over to the farmer's market in downtown. This is walkable from our recommended hotel and would be a great way to spend the morning before the wedding.

Random Gems in the Area

Sunspots Studios Glassblowing, Sunday morning polo at King Family Vineyards, take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway or Skyline Drive
