It all started back in their junior year of high school.. Yessica and Richard began crossing paths while in their junior year of ROTC program. Their love story first began by both hating each other. Yessica was one of those who took ROTC so serious that she would go to war in the middle of gym class if she had to. Richard would have a full connected beard and would also wear a light sweater on top of his uniform. Those were a big no no in the eyes of the law (Yessica). These actions resulted in various demotions. Yessica would visit Richard’s family restaurant often where she would ask her torta with no onions. On various occasions, Richard would add onions to her food to get back at her. Close to 9 years, and she loves onions now! Fast forward to senior year of high school. Richard was asked to join the ROTC staff team. Yessica and Richard began to have discussions on project related matters only. As weeks went by, the tension between both began to slowly disappear. Conversations were more friendly, Richard began walking Yessica to her classes, and lunch dates to the school cafeteria began to occur. Texting throughout the day and late night conversations began to happen more often. They always wondered how they became great friends after getting on each others nerves. After both graduating high school in 2013, Yessica and Richard continued dating. On January 2018, Richard proposed to Yessica. They got married through the civil court on February 2018 with hopes of receiving the holy marriage sacrament on October 2020. Unfortunately, they had to postpone their wedding due to COVID and a personal situation that happened in March that they believed happened for the best and has brought them together even stronger. Yessica and Richard are blessed and excited to soon be receiving the holy marriage sacrament. We thank our parents, family, god parents, and friends for so much support and love!
