Travel Note
The venue is ONLY accessible by BOAT. The couple will have a ferry boat reserved to pick up guest from three boat docks (Contact the couple to get a map of the location for the ferry boat docks in Bellagio & Tremezzo). If you miss the ferry boat provided by the couple, you will have to get a ferry boat to the venue yourself. It is very important to not miss the ferry provided by the couple.
Flight
WHERE: We recommend flying into Milan-Malpensa (MXP) from your home base. Booking ROUND TRIP is cheaper into and out of the US. I would recommend doing this even if you are planning to travel to other locations in Europe. It is somehow more expensive to book a ONE WAY, so I would be cautious to look at all your flight options. *Note: Flying into another Europe location may be cheaper, but may extend your travel time* We recommend to begin your travel plans to Europe Friday, April 17 or Saturday, April 18 if you do not wish to travel before. WHEN: We recommend to begin your travel home Tuesday, April 21 if you do not wish to travel after.
Train
You will take a train from Milan to Lake Como, Italy. Be sure to check the train times in comparison to your flight times.
Rental Car
You can either use a rental car or walk by foot. Make note of where your stay is in comparison to the ferry boat docks. It's possible and relatively common to rent a car in Milan and drive to Bellagio. The drive is about 1 hour 8 minutes, covering a distance of 72 km. However, parking in Bellagio can be challenging and expensive, and the roads around Lake Como can be narrow and winding. Most recommend getting the train from Milan to Lake Como then taking a ferry to Bellagio to your stay. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Driving from Milan to Bellagio: The drive is straightforward, primarily via the A9 highway and then local roads to Bellagio. The journey takes around 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Parking in Bellagio: Parking in Bellagio can be difficult and expensive, especially during peak season. It's recommended to check with your accommodation about parking options beforehand. * Alternatives to driving: Public transport, specifically trains to Como and then ferries to Bellagio, is a popular and often recommended option, particularly for those not comfortable with narrow, winding roads. Renting a car in Milan: Many car rental companies operate in Milan, including Hertz Car Rental and Maggiore, offering a range of vehicles and pickup/drop-off locations. (Information found on google)
Hotel
We recommend staying in a hotel or airbnb in Bellagio and Tremezzo. We find it cheaper to get an airbnb for large groups. We recommend getting your airbnb within walking distance to boat docks to avoid renting a car.
