Kelli & Andy met the classic way, through a friend, seven years ago at a Butler house party! Kelli's subconscious must have been telling her something, as she decided to take Andy's hat when it was time to leave the party. After a few other party run-ins, Andy decided to message her on Facebook his number "only to get [his] hat back". Fast forward a few weeks later when Kelli invited Andy to her sorority formal, and after a lot of Jack Daniels Honey, the rest is history...
If you know Kelli, you know she always ruins surprises, so Andy was determined to keep this a secret. From throwing her off by saying he was hanging with his buddies one day so he could drive to Cincy to pick out the ring, to telling her they should "go around the Sun a few times" before getting engaged, Andy definitely put in some work to surprise her. During the middle of quarantine lockdown, they decided to get out one weekend and head to Brown County State Park to hike and enjoy the spring day. After a fun morning of hikes and beautiful picnic lunch, Andy came up behind her and asked if she wanted a surprise. To say she was shocked and thrown off is an understatement, as she saw the box in his hand instantly responded with "this better not be a necklace"...to her surprise, it wasn't, and it was in fact the best gift Andy could have ever given her - a special, unpredictable engagement.
