We met through an online dating site called, "Plenty of Fish (POF)." My fiancé Ernesto and I weren't used to using online dating sites to meet people. We liked the old fashion way of meeting people; out and about like at a bar, club, party, etc. My Maid of Honor convinced me it would be a great idea to create a profile for me on POF and it took off from there. Message after message, but one especially caught my eye. It was the message from Ernesto that caught my attention when he asked me if I knew how to dance to banda music. We messaged for about a week then he decided to take this meet and greet into overdrive. We met on January 15, 2014 for our First Date at the Lazy Dog Cafe in Torrance, CA for dinner and drinks. But guess what? We didn't have dinner only drinks! Once we ended our date and had ran up the bill over $200 on only drinks we knew this was meant to be. After a few more dates that consisted of Tucanes de Tijuana, watching a Rock en Español band, and a Temecula wine tasting trip all within a 5 day period it took off from there! Fast forward to March 15, 2014 we officially became The Lornie's at a Dodgers Spring Training trip. Then 3 months later we moved in together! Can you say wow?! Wow!
My fiancé threw me a 35th birthday party and invited close family and friends. With a live Norteño band, drinks and food Ernesto had a surprise up his sleeve. He gave me a gift bag which had a small box inside and once I opened it he got on one knee and asked me to marry him followed by a beautiful display of fireworks. After being speechless and full of emotions I said, "Yesss!"
