Our Story

It was the forever memorable summer of 2020 - COVID mania. Jake was a young gun working at Protiviti remotely from Summerland Island, NY. He was excited to start on a new project at UberEats with a team he had worked with before, but to his disappointment, he heard there was a newcomer on the team. Enter Kendra. Kendra was a starry blue-eyed fox from Denver, CO ready to start her career at Protiviti. Kendra was told she staffed on UberEats, but to her disappointment, she was informed it was a team comprised of New Yorkers. The disappointment was short-lived - Jake and Kendra kicked off their relationship soon after meeting. Jake decided to fly out to Denver to take Kendra on a date and needless to say, the date was super smooth. So smooth, that Kendra introduced Jake to her family on day 2 of their "in-person" relationship. Typical Kendra putting the pressure on early. Jake, as the renaissance man he is, endured. Soon after Jake departed east, Kendra couldn't keep her mind off of him. Kendra decided to fly out and meet Jake's family. It was a bit of a shock to her system. Jake's family had boisterous dinners with extended family, went skeet and trap shooting, and had a large chocolate lab who enjoyed sitting on her lap. Jake's family quickly took her in as one of their own. To spare you the details of the middle part, Jake eventually moved out to Colorado in the spring of 2022. Now to the engagement story. Jake & Kendra were at Jake's family's house on Summerland and Kendra really wanted to go fishing. So, on the morning of August 16th. Jake obliged and took Kendra out on the boat before work. Before leaving, Jake grabbed the ring he had in his backpack thinking this would be the perfect time to propose. Luckily, Kendra neglected to put her contacts in, so she didn't notice the bulge of the ring box in his pocket. No fish were caught that morning, but Jake caught Kendra!
