James and Bailey, Always & forever.

FAQs

Question

But why did you elope?

Answer

We really wanted to focus on us, enjoy ourselves and have a truly stress free wedding day. And it was! Thank you all again for the love and support of our mutual decision to elope just the two of us. It would've been a blast with all of you there, but we're happy to have a secret little memory that its ours to cherish for the rest of our lives.

Question

Why didn't Bailey change her last name?

Answer

Nothing we've done, both in life and in our elopement is the most traditional (Bailey wore a red dress for hecks sake). In the short version, it didn't seem necessary to either of us. This is not to say Bailey wont go by 'Littier' in social settings ie social media, signing a card etc. Life is long and theres always time to change it. When we have children, maybe we will feel differently. We both thank you all for respecting our decision.

Question

Where are you going on your honeymoon?

Answer

We're going to Cancun in August of this year! Staying at Xcaret Arte, an "all-fun inclusive" resort that focuses on sustainability and the artistic wealth that Mexico has to offer. The resort is inspired by artists of Mexican Culture and eco-integrating architecture (in short story its super lush and serene and beautiful). The resort includes 10 amazing restaurants, food and drinks, the FUN stuff like zip-lining, cenote diving, art classes and more!

Question

How can we help?

Answer

We would LOVE help with financing our honeymoon. If you feel inclined to help us with our honeymoon of a lifetime we would be extra grateful, if you are unable to for any reason there is no pressure and we love you anyways! We live together and don't need a whole lot of gifts in the traditional sense, though we will list some in our registry if thats what you would prefer to give.

Question

Did you have fun?

Answer

We had the most fun! We drove down to SF on the 16th, went to Alcatraz which neither of us had been to before and then had dinner at Scomas on the warf. It was delicious! On the 17th we met up with Baileys old friend Katie Luna who is a professional photographer and took some of the most beautiful photos we've ever seen. We ended our photography session by reading our handwritten vows to each other and crying (who would've guessed). Our good friend Keegan came just in time to be our witness and we had the most beautiful ceremony at the top of the steps at San Fransisco city hall. We spent the rest of the day exploring, eating delicious sandos, and eating again at the Blind Butcher, another must do. On our last day we had breakfast, escaped at a super fun escape room (with only 45 seconds left on the clock) and stopped at Ikea (a mandatory thing for all newly weds) on our way home. Bailey's favorite memory: I loved reading my vows to James. He cried so hard I was so proud of myself. The legal ceremony was probably my favorite though, it was so beautiful and such a big moment for both of us. When the officiant announced us as husband and wife we didn't even kiss at first. We just hugged and jumped up and down screaming a little ... and then we kissed. James's favorite memory: I absolutely loved getting to explore the city together with no agenda or plan. We talked, we laughed, we ate some incredible food and overall just got to enjoy the moment and being together. My favorite memory from the morning of our elopement was getting to run around the city hall with almost the entire place to ourselves and have such an incredible photoshoot. Reading our vows just the 2 of us was so precious and something I will treasure forever.

Question

Special Thanks.

Answer

From the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU to Mark Bethard, the late Fred and Pat Wilson, Cassandra Bethard and Keegan Clark for making our elopement not only possible but incredibly special, fun, and relaxing. Without you all we wouldn't have been able to enjoy it nearly as much.
