Patrick and I first met in August of 2021 during move-in at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He was helping my roommate get settled, and from the moment we met, something just clicked. At the time, we were both living on campus year-round, having been there since January. Funny enough, during the summer of 2021—before fall housing officially began—we were actually living right next door to each other without even realizing it. It still makes us laugh knowing how close we were before we truly met. After move-in, we went out as a group to a Brazilian grill—my first time ever, and a memory I’ll never forget. But it wasn’t until mid-September that we really reconnected. We kept crossing paths—first in the Campus Center while tabling for our Greek organizations, and then again when we were seated next to each other at the Corsair Fair. That’s when I asked Patrick for help with my Business Communication class, which he had taken the semester before. I had just changed my major and was beginning my journey pursuing Marketing, and he was more than willing to help. Neither of us knew it at the time, but those small, seemingly random moments were the beginning of something so much bigger. From there, our relationship grew through both the little and big moments that college had to offer. We attended nine college formals together—each one filled with laughter, dancing, and memories we will always cherish. In 2024, we had the opportunity to walk the graduation stage side by side. It poured rain that day, but instead of letting it take away from the moment, we chose to see it as a sign—one that would bring us luck and remind us that we can weather anything, as long as we are together. What started as a chance meeting turned into a love built on friendship, support, and finding each other in the most unexpected ways—and we cannot wait to continue the rest of our story together.
