How it started...

Laura and I met each other through two of our best mutual friends, Christina and Dom. Unbeknownst to me, Christina texted Laura with a simple question: “Guess who’s single?” And unbeknownst to Laura, Dom called me with a conspiratorial tone and said: “Christina’s blonde, loud friend Laura who is just like you is single. What do you think about going out?” Sounds wonderful. November 17th? I’m in. With the first date a week away, Laura and I found increasingly clever ways to talk every single day leading up to it. Finally, the day arrived, and Laura and I shared our first beers together; played shuffle board; and talked the night away. We both agreed that we wanted to see each other the following Saturday; we made it all the way until early Tuesday afternoon to plan our second date in Manhattan... on Tuesday evening. Luckily for us, I always have a plethora of clothes to change into in the trunk of my car. On our second date, we went to what would become one of our favorite places- the Supply House. I still remember Laura’s plain, but still beautiful, white t-shirt, and how she complimented my polo shirt and Converse sneakers as, “classy up top, and casual on the bottom.” We made it all the way to the third date a few days later before I told Laura that I had no desire to see anyone else, and she tried to disguise being creeped out by my eagerness. From there, our relationship became one filled with fun, learning, and adventure: hiking at Mt. Beacon and Breakneck Ridge, our first rock climbing date where we had to belay each other on the 40 foot walls of Island Rock Climbing Gym (and I broke Laura’s phone), Laura taking me to my first yoga class, and then traveling to Peru and climbing the Rainbow Mountain with a splitting, oxygen-lacking headache... the pictures are breathtaking, but we digress. Last summer, a little shy of our two year anniversary, Laura and I got engaged in front of both of our families…and the rest is history.

How it's going...

A lot has happened since we canceled our initial wedding date of July 11th, 2020 due to the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. In the intervening two years, we have been officially married in a small, outdoor ceremony, relocated to Warwick, New York, and welcomed the birth of our first child William Larson Linnehan. In that same duration, Bill has learned to be a father, operate a zero turn lawnmower nearly without incident , paint hallways and ceilings, and install wood flooring. For Laura, that time was spent reading everything she could find regarding motherhood, returning to her job at Warner Music, and reigniting her passion for yoga, both personally and professionally. So much has happened in the two years we have delayed this celebration, and we cannot wait to share the next steps of our story with all of you.

For all the days along the way
