COVID Precautions

The State of Minnesota requires that face masks be worn inside all public buildings, this will include the dining hall and bathrooms at Camp Tanadoona. We will be providing disposable face masks for adults and youth, if you do not have a personal one or happen to forget it. Drinks, for the entire evening, as well as appetizers (served from 4-5pm) will be found in the dining hall. This is also where the gift table will be, two (of three) sets of bathrooms, a picture slideshow, as well as a handful of tables for eating or socializing. There will be *plenty* of seating, tables, and socialization places found outside, on the campgrounds. The total number of occupants, at one time, in the dining hall is limited to 100 people - due to laws around COVID. There will be designated doors to enter and exit the dining hall, as well as arrows to guide flow of traffic. There will be camp staff at the entrance of the dining hall to make sure that maximum occupancy laws are being followed. Please be patient and understanding with this process. While Minnesota and Camp Tanadoona do not require face masks for any part of our weekend that happens outside, we ask that you wear a mask through the line at dinner - at minimum. There will be bottles of hand sanitizers placed throughout the camp, including the entrance, photo table, around the lawn games, and spread out among the picnic tables. Please stay safe and make smart and healthy decisions as we gather to celebrate 😁 Can't wait to see everyone!!!

Our Engagement

Thanksgiving 2019

I was excited to have been invited to Washington state with Brandon and his family, for the Thanksgiving holiday. I loved the idea of meeting some of his extended family while also being able to spend some quality time with his parents and brothers. Every morning, after breakfast, the entire family would take a walk on the beach. So this happening on the day of the proposal wasn't out of the ordinary. We all walked along for a while, and then, two or three at a time, the family turned back to return to the beach house - again, not out of the ordinary. Brandon asked if I would continue on for a bit more with him and I gladly agreed. It was such a gorgeous morning; so refreshing to spend time in the sun with him! Eventually, we turned around and headed back. Mind you, this entire time he was so collected and acting typical to himself. We get back to the beach house and the family is all out on the deck, this didn't trigger any flags in my brain, either. He stopped me on the top of this adorable, grassy sand dune and handed me a letter that he had written for me - this is when I knew what was happening. It was a perfectly lovely letter! He then got down on one knee and pulled out my magical ring. I waited for him to "pop the question" ... but he just knelt there looking at me, beckoning an answer to a question that wasn't uttered. And, so, I said "yes!" He hugged me and put the ring on my finger, and then we kissed to the sound of our family (and neighbors who also happened to be on their back deck) cheering. The family popped bubbly, there was lots of hugs and happy tears! It wasn't until after things quieted down a bit, after friends and family were called, after a million pictures were taken, that I pulled Brandon into a side room and informed him that he never actually asked me to marry him. He was shocked and slightly embarrassed. He asked me in that moment and several times afterwards, during that trip; each time, his question was met with my resounding "yes!"

Just a little further ...
