While we shared a few classes in high school together prior, Austin and I officially met in June of 2014 when my friends and I were going to 'the cliffs' as we called it and a mutual friend of ours asked me if this guy Austin Leslie could ride with us. Since I was the one driving I was skeptical but I agreed. Of course, as soon as I saw him my heart skipped a few beats and I thought 'why didn't she tell me he looked like THAT'. Let the nerves of this ridiculously cute boy getting in my car set in. Quickly I could see this ride there he needed clearly had an ulterior motive. Fast forward to us getting there, I (accidentally) spent the whole time with him as he made me laugh constantly and we never ran out of things to talk about. Once I thought that my crush on him was becoming too obvious so I tried to ditch him to go back with my friends who I honestly had forgotten were there. As I tried to walk away he grabbed my arm, spun me around, and gave me the biggest kiss. HA! The feeling was mutual. Although there were lots of people there, it truly felt like we were the only two in the world and it has ever since. That was it for me, Austin had stolen my heart and I have been dreaming of seeing him down on one knee since I was 17! -Kamryn
Sometimes the best outcomes come from things that were unplanned... or poorly planned. I knew I wanted to ask Kamryn to be my wife around all of our family and frineds, but I didn't know how I was going to do it. So, when I got the ring and a Green family vacation to Galveston was coming up, I knew when, but not how. It wasn't until we were in Galveston and enjoying ourselves that I thought, "You know, we have a lot of friends in Houston that probably aren't doing anything...", so I made it clear that they should come down for a "special" time with Kam and I. After that, with a bit of help from Kamryn's dad, we were able to set up a formal dinner. I made sure Kamryn was the last one to get ready (or did she do that herself?) and by the time she was out of the shower and ready, I was on the beach with a ring in my pocket and the beach house was empty. I called her and said to come down to the beach because there was something "cool" I wanted to show her (something I thought of 2 minutes before). She came down to the water where I was and I swore to her that she had just missed a "huge jellyfish". She saw right through my lies, but agreed to walk on the beach with me for a second since we were already "late" to dinner anyways. A few steps in, I dropped to a knee. She turned in surprise with confusion in her eyes and shoes in her hands. Then, I spoke from the heart and told her how much I loved her, and how I couldn't imagine my life without her (I recall there being some sand in my eyes as well, so my eyes got watery). She hurried me to the question and quickly answered "Yes!" with the biggest smile on her face. It was an amazing moment. The beach bums within eyesight cheered and the nearby photographer snapped a few memorable pictures. We were then able to join our families at dinner and surprise her grandparents with her new ring. We cherished every moment, and we cannot wait for the big day where we say, "I do". -Austin
