love is in the air

Our first date was at a Tiki Bar near Abbie's apartment. From the day that we met, we felt almost magnetized to each other. The two of us do almost everything together, from concerts to hockey games. We feel like we complete each other, and that the universe led us into each other's lives when we least expected it.

Sam was acting strange all week leading up to the proposal. When that morning finally arrived, he was anxiously trying to put together the perfect outfit. We had planned on spending the afternoon at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Abbie had a pretty good idea what was going on, but played along. The museum was ridiculously busy, so we snuck outside into the sculpture garden. We found a quiet bench, and moments later Sam got down on one knee. "Of course" was the answer!

We absolutely love trying new experiences together. We first bonded over two things - Sports & Music. We both love live music, and have gone to many concerts and festivals together. Abbie is slowly getting Sam into musicals as well! Detroit sports are so incredibly special to us (obviously) and we had to incorporate that love into our marriage somehow. We get the chance to cheer on four sports teams for a city that we love dearly. Unfortunately though, we will always have a Michigan/MSU divided home. We also enjoy painting, grilling, and snuggling with our kitties - Frankie & Butters.
