He said yes!
Jordan and I decided it was prudent to move our marriage to sooner than later, so at noon yesterday we went to the court house and got married by an amazing queer judge who was overjoyed to marry us. Joshua held our rings and presented them for us. Then we had a very small reception at a local restaurant with as many people as we could pack into the room. We celebrated surrounded by the best people. The doggos even made an appearance on the cake.
In the midst of a global pandemic, we met for a socially distanced coffee in June 2020. I brought us dinner from Le Madeline, he ordered coffee in the drive through for both of us. And on the patio we sat, separated by 6' and starting off with masks, as we started to get to know each other. We talked about everything from both of our pasts, the dog and child, our needs and wants. Flash forward about 4 hours — we realized how late it was and that we both needed to get home. When we were getting ready to leave, we both had masks on but he asked if he could give me a hug. I agreed, after letting him know what my risk level was perceived to be. Then during the hug, he looked me in the eye and told me he really wanted a kiss, and that he was willing to accept the risk. We shared that first kiss, and became nearly inseparable after that.
