Ben & Anna met on November 3, 2022, at a Granger Smith concert at The Waiting Room in Benson. Anna went solo on a whim, while Ben made a last-minute decision to attend with his son, Hunter, and family. One smile near the trash can (and a Busch Light) was all it took. After spending the night talking about everything from music to life and healing, Ben finally asked Anna for her number — and invited her to another concert the following week. Before parting ways, he surprised her with a band bracelet from the merch table and a hug. By the time Anna got home, “Benjamin” was already saved in her phone. Their first official “date” (another concert) turned into hours of laughter, late-night pool games, and heartfelt conversations. From there, one concert turned into many, and one night turned into weekends filled with the simple, everyday moments that make a life together. Before long, Ben and Hunter had moved in, and the three quickly became a family. After seven months, they bought an acreage — a place that felt like home in all the ways that mattered most to them and how they both envisioned raising their future family. On January 11, 2026, just over three years after they met, Ben took Anna on a drive down memory lane — past the house where their family began, The Waiting Room where they met, and finally to a lake where a few memories were shared. There, Ben got down on one knee and asked Anna to marry him, completely surprising her.
