The story of this wedding starts with the dating app Hinge–where Nick and Courtney never could have expected that they were going to be each other’s last “match.” After a couple weeks of chitchat, they decided to take things “off the app” and met for dinner at Barcocina in Lincoln Park in Chicago, Illinois. Over bottomless chips and guac and margaritas, these two were off to the races on their conversation that still hasn’t ended (try shutting either one of them up). Courtney calls San Diego home originally, where she grew up and lived most of her life until moving to Illinois in 2019 to pursue nursing school. Nick grew up in the Chicago suburb of Geneva, Illinois and works at a law firm as a litigation attorney in downtown Chicago. Courtney and Nick have been living together (with their puppies, Indy and Levi), in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago since October of 2023, a few blocks from Wrigley FIeld. If you have spent time with these two, you know that neither is short on opinions or “playful banter” with the other. You will also know that they do not waver in their support or love for each other, whether that is Courtney pretending to enjoy ten hours of NFL Redzone every Sunday in the fall, or Nick pretending to enjoy getting pedicures. They do everything together and that is just the way it is. On December 7th, 2024, Nick proposed to Courtney in MIllenium Park on a snowy night in downtown Chicago in front of all Courtney’s and Nick’s closest family. That became a special night to both of them in what was already a special place. Whether you came from near or far, Courtney and Nick, soon to be “The Landis,” could not be happier that you are here to join in the party for their most special night yet.
