Lauren and David’s love story starts like many great modern romances do: two people living in the same city, swiping halfheartedly on dating apps, and expecting absolutely nothing to come of it. Lauren had just graduated PA school and did what any fearless, independent woman would do. She packed up her life in Orlando, Florida, moved to Memphis, Tennessee for her first job. She was deep in her single-girl era, career-focused, self-sufficient, and not exactly in a rush to find a relationship. David, originally from Columbus, Mississippi, had also recently landed in Memphis after moving from South Haven to be closer to work, settling into midtown while working in IT and maintaining what can only be described as an impressively clean and organized bachelor pad. Despite living just minutes apart, they had no idea the other existed for well over a year. Eventually, the dating apps did their thing and Lauren and David matched. And then… nothing. For months, they sent each other the occasional message, left the other on read, disappeared for weeks, and repeated the cycle. Neither was particularly invested. Fate was patient. Until one day, David sent a pickup line that finally caught Lauren’s attention long enough for her to respond immediately. Sensing his moment, David wasted no time and asked her out quicker than most dating-app conversations ever move. Their first date was trivia on a random weeknight in July 2018, and somehow that was all it took. They’ve been inseparable ever since. Over the last eight years, they moved to Nashville, adopted their extremely spoiled cat, Lexa, bought a home just outside the city, and both work from home while continuing to build a life they love. As they step into this next chapter, Lauren and David are most excited about what marriage represents: choosing each other every day and continuing to grow the life they’ve built together. They intentionally kept their wedding small, surrounded by their closest, most favorite people, so everyone can truly connect and celebrate the unexpected way fate brought them together. They cannot wait to celebrate with the people they love most.
