Alexa and Tyler met at a Christian Business Leaders meeting during their junior year of college. They were introduced before Alexa officially joined, and they developed big crushes on each other over the fall semester. Their interest in one another began to burn even brighter in Arkansas during a winter trip with friends. Alexa asked Tyler to play a game of doubles solitaire, and they ended up spending most of the trip trying to win a single hand. After playing about 80 hands, they didn’t win once, which should have been statistically impossible. A few days later, Tyler asked Alexa on their first date to get coffee. The night before, the roads froze over, and even after Alexa called to try to cancel, Tyler endured, picked her up, and found the only coffee shop open that morning due to the weather conditions. During that date, they finally won solitaire and knew it was just meant to be. Tyler asked her to be his girlfriend a few weeks later, which took Alexa four days to respond. His patience paid off when she finally said yes. They dated, survived a summer of long distance, and deepened their affection for one another. They got engaged at the same cabin where they had quietly fallen in love, in Jasper, Arkansas, on February 28, 2025. Tyler and Alexa are excited to commit to each other before God, family, and friends as they pursue a life of godliness and loving their neighbors.
