Indicative of a destined love story, Abby and Ryan met in a dingy parking garage when Ryan helped Abby carry her toilet paper back up to her apartment. A true Prince Charmin! A few months later and not realizing they had met before, they matched on an online dating app and began chatting. Shortly after, Abby and Ryan ran into one another in their apartment's elevator, putting two and two together and finally deciding to go on a date.
When the day came, Ryan conveniently just had to take the elevator down one floor to pick Abby up! They walked across Cathedral Square Park to Belmont to grab beers. Since the options were "another beer, or should we head out," the date ended five Riverwest Steins later. When they got back to the apartment Ryan was hoping for a goodnight kiss, but thinking she was really funny, Abby took two fingers and simultaneously hit both of the elevator buttons for each of their floors. Luckily the rest was history since the first date, so he didn't have to wait long!
After months of secretly shopping for the perfect ring (and a few weeks of mixed success hiding the evidence...), the plan was set. With assistance from his sister Renee, Ryan would propose on a beautiful spring night, April 27th. But when the day finally arrived, mother nature had a different plan in store. A flash snow storm threw a twist into the plans, but all's well that ends well. Under the guise of grabbing a drink before meeting Renee and her husband Sean at the Symphony, Abby and Ryan revisited the bar where they had their first date (and of course drank a Riverwest Stein). While walking back through Cathedral Square Park and battling the blizzard, Ryan got down on one knee and popped the question. Abby said yes, the champagne had no issue staying cold, and the weather made for an unplanned but memorable backdrop as the undercover photographer captured the moment. Afterwards, Ryan had more surprises for Abby as their friends and family gathered at a nearby bar to celebrate the rest of the evening.
