We met in 2015 at SMACK (Summer Music and Arts Camp for Kids). John had participated in SMACK for a few years and Virginia joined in 2015 for Shrek the Musical. We became “camp friends” and only saw/hung out with each other for 2 weeks every summer from 2015-2017. In 2017, during SMACK’s The Lion King, we started a “flirtationship” and began hanging out a little more during the performace weeks. It fizzled into friendship after camp and we went our separate ways. In 2018, during SMACK’s The Wizard of Oz, we got to be really close friends. After SMACK was over that summer, we continued to text and talk until we went on our first “date” (at the time, it was simply a friend hangout) on August 8, 2018. From then, we continued to grow and really fuel our friendship and closeness until John asked Virginia to be his girlfriend on September 17, 2018. 3 1/2 years later and our best-friendship continues to be our strongest bond. Falling in love with your best friend and weaving the boyfriend/girlfriend, fiancè/fiancée, and now the husband/wife love into the best friend love has been the most beautiful part of our relationship. We are so excited for this next chapter in our lives.
