I didn’t fully know what I was getting myself into when I replied to a first message about donuts. I mean I love donuts who would ignore a question like that?! It went from food to dinosaurs to video games and just endless talking where we called them stories. He even picked up on having like 5 different conversations at once but separating with a space like it was a paragraph. Man that kept my ADD happy haha. We had plenty of things to talk about and yet we never seem to run out of topics. Fast forward to 3 months in and this guy that was driving 3 hours on a Friday night after work and then getting up at 5 am and driving back 3 hours on a Sunday morning to work all day- well….. he moved in with me! For any of you that knew me growing up(Well let’s be honest even mid 20s) you’d never think I would be the extroverted one in the relationship. I’ve brought this guy out of his shell a bit to getting him out of Illinois and traveling (Hello Orlando and Harry Potter!) to concerts and kayaking! This year is our biggest trip yet and I’m not even meaning the start of a new chapter being husband and wife but WE’RE GOING TO NORWAY!! Now, if you knew Jimmy- he’s obsesssssed with Norway, or at least was for 4 years leading up to the Pandemic. He was basically eat/sleep/breathe Norway. Whether it was reading books or watching YouTube to planning out the exact path he would take off the plane - you name it he probably watched it. His dreams of going over there to check it out before moving there were crushed when Covid hit and he didn’t get a chance to go. He kind of gave up on the dream and tucked it away along with his never used camera, norway shirt, and backpack. Even his Instagram account that he refuses to post anything because his first post was going to be in Norway was put away to not be used unless he went there. To say the level of excitement was high when I mentioned going to Norway for vacation this year to see the Northern Lights is a vast understatement. When I left for work before him for once; this guy put together a google maps of places in Norway he wanted to visit… all before work. …. I didn’t even know he knew how to… from the guy that asked how to get to google… when he was on it already 🤦♀️ Almost a year and a half later we’re sitting at a bar waiting for a Ryan Mack concert and I asked him what he was thinking as he goes quiet sometimes, and his response … ‘Nothing that concerns you’ 😂 because that’s not a giveaway to something. We’ve always been pretty in tune with the other and every conversation feels so natural so it was no surprise that we were both thinking about getting married in Norway on our trip. I may have been the one to ask him out and say I love you first, but he asked me to marry him. And of course I said YES!
