Jesus leads …

October 19, 2024

We met on October 19 of last year at Brandon's family Halloween party, although neither of us are big fans of the creepy holiday... I (Taylor) went, because my best friend, Jenna, invited me. For years, she has sworn I would marry one of her plethora of cousins, because she was determined for me to be a part of her family and I always just laughed. That night, as Jenna was fluttering around like a social butterfly ;), I decided to go get some food instead of awkwardly standing around. As I was getting food, I saw a mightily handsome man walk out of his grandparents' home which was right in my line of view. I looked up and saw those ocean blue, Jesus-filled eyes and something sparked in my heart. I had to meet him... Jenna then came over and I asked her about him. She said that he was her cousin and we would be the perfect match. She introduced us, neither of us felt like the other was interested. Later that evening, Jenna and I walked on the haunted trail. Who was the one chasing us with a chainsaw at the end? Of course, Beezy. :) He is so handsome and gentle, I couldn't be scared. No really though, I have been terrified of being chased with chainsaws since I was a teenager, but this time I wasn't afraid. He felt shocked that we just walked and didn't run away. So, we like to say I fell in love with him, because he chased me with a chainsaw. Fast forward ... While I thought that was the end, Brandon had been praying about us in the weeks after we met, while I was on my knees ultimately coming to a place of fully surrendering to a lifetime of singleness. Fast forward again ... In mid-December, his sister invited me to come to her birthday party with Jenna. Turns out it may have been a bit of a set-up, but I am alright with that now. ;) Beezy and I ended up chatting for a couple hours that night then he asked me out for coffee. Our coffee date lasted 6 hours and we both felt like we never wanted to leave. We talked and laughed like best friends. Since that date, we have been inseparable. Through every step, we both have sought the Lord and followed His lead from the first talk to where we are now. I praise the Lord for bringing beauty out of ashes and doing what felt like impossible! We are thanking God for the gift of each other and the covenant of marriage. It's been a beautiful journey of walking with the Lord hand-in-hand. We both are excited to see what life He has in store for us together. We thank you for entering this chapter of marriage together with us!
