Our ceremony and reception will take place at Clementine Hall, a beautiful c. 1889 church that has been given new life through modern architecture and design. Clementine Hall is located just off I-40 in West Nashville, a short 10-15 minute drive from the city center.
Nashville International Airport (BNA) is a quick 15-20 minute trip from the city center in regular traffic conditions. It is undergoing a series of renovations, so you'll likely experience a mix of old and new in the terminals, depending on which airline you choose. We recommend using Taxi or Rideshare services (i.e., Uber and Lyft) to get to and from BNA, unless you plan on renting a car. Nashville is a driving city with limited public transportation, so be prepared to hire a set of wheels in one form or another during your stay!
Good news: you really can't go wrong when traveling to Nashville, as every part of the city has something special and exciting to offer. That said, we've also provided a list of our favorite neighborhoods in the FAQs below. In general, we would advise choosing accommodation that is somewhat centrally located, as that will give you a good jumping-off point for activities through the weekend, both wedding-related and otherwise. Please see the 'Travel' section of this website for more information about recommended accommodation.
For those able to arrive in Nashville a bit early, there will be a Welcome Reception on the evening of Thursday, 10/23. We are also planning a casual brunch meetup on Saturday, 10/25. More details to come as we get closer to the wedding! Since we're getting married on Friday, it's our hope that you'll take the opportunity to stay and explore Nashville through the weekend. There's so much to see, and you'll be visiting at the peak of our best Fall weather to boot 🍂
We love your amazing kiddos, but our wedding ceremony and reception will be for adults only. For those traveling to Nashville with little ones in tow, more information about local childcare options will be shared closer to the wedding.
For our Ceremony and Reception, we hope you'll come dressed in dancefloor-ready cocktail attire - whatever that means to you. We want you to feel great, have fun, and bring your whole self to this big ol' party we're putting together 🪩 For the Welcome Reception on 10/23, the dress code will be more in the range of dressy-ish to casual. Come as you are!
We're excited for you to come experience Music City and see why we love it so much! While every part of our city has something to offer, some of our favorite neighborhoods for food, drinks, and entertainment are: East Nashville (where we live), Germantown, Wedgewood-Houston, 12 South, Hillsboro Village, The Nations, Music Row, and The Gulch. Of course, there's also Lower Broadway, of "NashVegas" fame, for those looking to HONK and TONK during our wedding weekend. Should you choose to venture into the chaos, be prepared for the following: a crush of humanity, unfettered cowboy cosplay, public intoxication, and a strong chance of low-grade hearing loss when you emerge. Yeehaw and godspeed to all ye who enter here! 🤠 ☠️
We are thrilled to share our wedding day with Jock and Susan Demme's 50th Wedding Anniversary! The bride's parents were married on 24 October 1975, and those crazy kids are still together after all these years. The chance to celebrate both occasions in one fell swoop was simply too good to pass up (and yeah, we're hoping some of those good vibes rub off on us!) There will be celebratory nods to this major milestone in the course of our wedding weekend, and we can't wait to share the love. If you can make the trip to Nashville, it will mean so much for all of us to be surrounded by our nearest and dearest on this extra-special day.
When we saw this beautiful watercolor by nature illustrator and self-proclaimed "crab fancier," Moira Frith, it immediately spoke to us. Growing up in Maryland (Josh) and Washington state (Anne), crabs have loomed large in our respective local wildlife legends, and starred in many a fond childhood memory. We were tickled by Moira's depiction of what looks *a bit* like a Maryland Blue Crab presenting a Pacific Northwest Dungeness Crab with an anemone - a sweet depiction of shared love and the offering of a gift. Call it a crustacean proposal, if you will. Even though our Nashville wedding is landlocked, how could we resist? 🦀 Giving credit where it is absolutely due, you can view more of Moira's gorgeous work online, here: https://www.moirafrith.co.uk/
