On June 15, 2014, Tony and Carollyn were matched on #MATCH. Tony sent Carollyn a brief note complimenting her on a "very pretty smile" and that she looked "good in boots" based on the picture she'd posted from her Cousin Daniel's wedding. Carollyn took a few weeks to respond on July 1st. She reviewed his profile a few times and liked that he enjoyed music and concerts, was a Christian and a Virgo. Carollyn will tell you that of the four pictures he'd posted, his full beard photo was her favorite. She also thought he had kind eyes, and their exchanges through the Match site amused her enough to go on a first date.

On July 8, 2014, Tony and Carollyn met for the first time in person at the Joe Mugg's Coffee Shop in the BAM (Books-A-Million) store in Davenport, Iowa on 53rd. The evening was really pleasant with quite a bit of story telling, and Carollyn learned a lot about Tony. Carollyn NOW knows Tony is normally an introvert with strangers, but that night he was a chatty guy and she loved his tales. Carollyn remembers leaving that night thinking that Tony was definitely an interesting person and worth getting to know better.

We agreed to go on a date after our first meeting. We met at Brix in downtown Moline because they had gluten free pizza. After dinner and a few drinks, Carollyn was pretty sure she knew this guy was really fun. Tony and Carollyn both think the other one made the first move outside of Bierstube. Tony will tell you that Carollyn attacked him at that light pole! Carollyn is pretty sure that it was Tony who went in for the kill. Either way - the rest is "history" and always a fun memory for us!
