When should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony starts at 5:30pm, so we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to allow everyone to find their seats and the schedule to remain on time! Please note that if you arrive after the ceremony begins you will not be allowed to enter and have to wait until the start of cocktail hour!

Is the wedding venue inside or outdoors?

Our ceremony takes place outdoors overlooking the Chesapeake bay while our cocktail hour and reception are indoors.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! Dress code is formal. We ask that men wear a suit & tie or a nice button down shirt with slacks (No Jeans Please!) and ladies wear a floor-length or midi-length gown. Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding an adults-only event and will only be able to accommodate those specifically listed on your invitation. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night!

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! Select beer, wine, spirits, soda and signature cocktails are on us!

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an “unplugged” ceremony (no phones or cameras out). The greatest gift you can give us is to be fully present as we say “I do.” We have hired professionals to capture this moment for us and we promise to share the photos and video as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony feel free to take as many photos and videos as you’d like!

Are there any transportation services available?

Answer

For those staying local, there's a shuttle bus that will pick up guests from Rod N Reel Resort before the ceremony begins and will drop back off after the reception. If you are coming from out-of-town, the parking lot across from the venue is free to park in and you are allowed to park there overnight! Uber and/or Lyft also services this area, just keep in mind wait times. For those using the shuttle bus from Rod N Reel there will be two pick up times prior to the ceremony. The shuttle bus will depart at 4:30 and 5:00 pm so please be ready outside the main lobby 15 minutes prior to the pick up time you select! Keep in mind the shuttle bus only has 25 seats available for each trip - to reduce overflow, please pick out your departure time using the link below: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F49AAAA28ABF5C34-64433976-wedding For those staying at Rod n Reel the shuttle bus will also be transporting guests back at the end of the night with available transport times listed below: 9 pm 9:30 pm 10:00 pm 10:30 pm

Is there an after party?

Answer

Yes! We have our after party at 1936 Bar & Grill at Rod n Reel Resort. The bar is located on the 3rd level. Shuttle times for the after party from the Wedding Venue will begin at 10:30pm. A shuttle bus will return any guests staying at Herrington Inn starting at 12am with last shuttle bus leaving by 1am.
