We met in 2019 during syllabus week at the University of Houston, a time when no one’s actually studying yet. All our friends were heading to one of the usual UH hangout spots (shoutout Rooftop), and after a long shift at work, the last thing Jo wanted to do was go out. She didn’t even have a change of clothes! But with some solid peer pressure and a borrowed outfit, we both ended up in the same room, thanks to two mutual friends who unknowingly played matchmaker. Mickey saw Jo, asked for an introduction, and didn’t waste a second before asking for her number. From that moment, something just clicked. As though fate had a plan all along, being part of Greek life at UH brought us even closer together. Between philanthropy events, mixers, and countless late nights surrounded by our friends and community, we found more and more reasons to be around each other — and before long, friendship naturally grew into much more. Since those college days, we’ve built a beautiful life together. We've kicked off our careers, moved into our first home, visited our motherlands (El Salvador & Mexico) and added three fur babies to the mix! (One spicy chihuahua: Pluto, and two spunky cats: Leia & Stormi). Fast forward to 2024: Mickey proposed! Now we’re gearing up for our next big adventure, marriage! We can’t wait for the family we’ll build, the places we’ll explore, and the millions of memories still ahead. This is just the beginning and the best is yet to come.
