I met Brandon through a mutual friend, and what started as casual video game sessions soon blossomed into something much more. After just a month of talking, I decided to visit him at his house to cook Chicken Alfredo, and that’s when everything changed. I might have added a little extra love into the dish that night — and I think it worked, because the rest is history.
After 3.5 amazing years together, Brandon (finally) decided it was time to propose. He chose Thanksgiving—the first one spent with both his parents, my dad, and stepmom. I’ll never forget walking in to find him frantically searching for something, saying, ‘I lost my cufflinks.’ I replied, ‘You never wear cufflinks!’ Despite his best efforts to stay composed, it was clear I had him nervous. Knowing how much his mom loves family photos, he set up a photo session and had her request group shots. After a few expletives (sorry, parents), I said yes.
