Paige and I met 4 months after I moved from Reno to San Jose for work. My office happened to be down the street from the Starbucks where she worked and conveniently the same one I went to every Monday and Wednesday when I came to the office. One morning I came into my office and was telling my friends about how I should really figure out who she is. One of my coworkers happened to know her and she immediately became my wingwoman. After multiple attempts to set up a date by my wingwoman (and now our good friend) I sent Paige a message and she IGNORED it for multiple days. To say the least I was distraught, but in the end she gave in and replied to me. That weekend she came to my house for a BBQ with my roommates. My friends were really excited to meet her and see what she was about. Paige came in and talked to everyone, ate a steak and had some beers with us before going out downtown. She was a great time and so nice to everyone, I knew I had to keep pursuing this one. Fast forward, almost a year later (I work fast, I know what I want, she checked all the boxes 😂) and saving my pennies, I had enough to buy her a ring and at that moment I was so confident in her and my decision, I pulled the trigger and here we are. We are both so excited to share this day with you all!
When Tommy first told me about the photoshoot he scheduled for us I had a small suspicion of what might happen that day. I hid my suspicion from anyone who might give it away with even the smallest smirk. This is because I LOVE surprises, and this is the surprise I’ve been dreaming about my whole life! The day before the proposal, Tommy, being the fantastic salesman that he is, completely threw me off. He did so well that I texted my coworker on the way to the photoshoot in Tres Pinos and said, “Never mind, Im just being crazy and reading into this (per usual), it's just a photoshoot!” It wasn't until the second location of the shoot in front of the reservoir in Paicines when he made the ULTIMATE move. When Ronnie Esparza, Tommy's friend and the photographer, had the drone video camera in the perfect spot, while he was set to take photos in a different one, he gave Tommy the signal which was “Okay now kiss her!" Tommy kissed me and then immediately reached down into his NEW cowboy boots. He had to buy some new boots because, where was he suppose to hide a small box where I wouldn't notice...his jeans back pocket? Yeah right! If you’ve seen his back side you know what I am talking about!😉 He pulled the box out, opened it, and said “Will you Marry me?” In absolute shock, I said “Of course!” and then attacked him with a hug, meanwhile he tried not to drop the GORGEOUS ring in the brush. We then headed back to the Miguel residence where my family and a couple friends were waiting in the back yard with hand made congratulation signs, champagne, and the song “At Last”, by Nora Jones (picked by my little brother Brady) playing as we walked through the door. And now, I get to plan the wedding of my dreams with the man of my dreams! We cannot wait to celebrate with you all!
