Although we went to high school together, we didn't meet until many years later on a dating app. While it took a while for us to meet in person (Brandi asked Matt for a "rain check" on a couple of occasions), we knew almost immediately that it was different from anything we've experienced previously. A few great dates, Matt agreeing to fly to Vegas and see Lady Gaga (before even meeting), and a softball game that ended with Brandi knowing Matt was the one; we both just knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Eight weeks after our first date, Brandi, adorning a perfectly orange pumpkin shirt, said yes to Matt in his apartment kitchen. The proposal felt very "us" with both dogs behaving wildly. The running joke was that Matt would have to propose with a ring pop since our relationship progressed so quickly, so at the beginning, that's exactly what he did. Brandi thought he was "being cute", so even though that had talked about it several times, she didn't take it seriously until she saw the most beautiful ring. We are both ecstatic to have found our person and even more ecstatic to be spending the rest of our lives together. We are so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Detroit!
