We were in Virginia Beach for the birthday party of Kristina's niece, Nia. After the birthday festivities wrapped up, Kristina's family made plans to get together for dinner. For months leading up to this weekend, Tyler had been planning the proposal with Kristina's parents, cousins and best friend. He wanted to make sure that the people Kristina cared about the most were a part of this event. After changing the plan multiple times, Tyler made the last minute decision to propose during this weekend (of course with family blessing, to not take away from Nia's big day). As Kristina's family gathered around to say a prayer before dinner, Tyler rushed to make sure the people who couldn't make it were on FaceTime. When everyone made it to the kitchen, relatives went around sharing recent news and upcoming events, when suddenly Kristina's mom called everyone's attention towards Tyler. Tyler then turned to Kristina, gave a short speech, and while her relatives celebrated with excitement, he got down on one knee and proposed. Kristina of course said yes as she ugly cried in front of the people she's closest to. Special thanks to Uncle Rick and Tita Marie for allowing us to have this special moment in their kitchen. We would just like to take a moment to thank everyone. Because we started dating so young, you have all watched us grow together and learn about ourselves. Your presence in our lives means so much to us and we cannot wait to make it official with the support of our loving family and friends.
