FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Whatever feels most comfortable for you. We're aiming for cocktail attire so think typical wedding guest dress. We appreciate that the weather may still be quite toasty in early October so do feel free to wear something light. That being said, the evenings tend to be much cooler so bring a jacket or shawl for the evening as the majority of the day will be outside.

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

The best way to get there is by flying directly into Faro airport. The venue is only a 15 minute drive north and can be accessed by bus or taxi. For those planning to drive, there is ample parking available at the venue. For those of you planning to see a bit more of the Algarve, there is a train that you can take direct into Faro from most towns and cities along the coast.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

If you choose to join us at the hotel, bookings can be made one year in advance (from Oct 2025 onwards). For those who would prefer to stay in Faro, there are plenty of great options available. AirBnB, Booking.com or Hotels.com are the best place to look.

Question

What are we eating?

Answer

Ah! The exciting bit. We've tried some delicious dishes that cater for all dietary requirements (meat, fish, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free). Canapés and drinks will be served right after the ceremony followed by a buffet, traditional Portuguese style. For those that are still a bit peckish later, we'll have a wonderful supper planned as well as drinks throughout the entire event and an open bar once the party begins.

Question

How long will the day be?

Answer

We ask that guests arrive at the palace for 3pm. The ceremony will commence soon after followed by canapés and drinks, a portuguese buffet and supper later in the evening. We anticipate that this will all conclude at midnight.

Question

Will I need to pay for anything while I'm there?

Answer

We've got you covered for the entire day including an open bar for 2 hours in the evening. If, of course, there's anything extra you want that isn't covered by our initial plan, then there will be a variety of spirits and wines you can purchase at the bar.

Question

Are you having a gift registry?

Answer

We appreciate that coming all the way to Portugal for our special day is a big ask in itself and therefore we really don't expect any gifts. Sharing our special day with us is more than enough.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

Whilst we can't wait to welcome children to our special day, we hope you can understand that we are only able to invite those who have been named on the invitation.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We will be having an unplugged ceremony so please refrain from using your phones, however, you're welcome to use them afterwards. We will have a photographer and videographer on the day to take professional photos and film.

Question

What is there to do in the area?

Answer

If you're not already familiar with the Algarve, it is most famous for its sun-soaked sandy beaches. We will be getting married in Estoi which is a village 15 minutes north of the Algarve's capital Faro. If you're staying in the area, there is plenty to see and do. Just get in touch for some recommendations!

Question

Do I need to RSVP and how?

Answer

Yes please do! We need your response as soon as possible so we can plan numbers and inform the kitchen of your dietary choices.
