Our Love Story

As many of you have seen, Wesley and I have similar last names. This was important because we were in the same Evangelism class, and our professor decided to have assigned seats. It was around the first week of September that Wesley and I first met. We had remained just classmates up until this point, making small talk before the class began. The first time we hung out outside of class was in mid-October to grab lunch with some of my friends. Then Wesley asked me on our first date to ScareMare...a haunted maze. Many of you may not know this, but I hate all things scary... but it was with Wesley, so, of course, I went. After many conversations about not wanting a casual relationship, November 2, 2023, was the day that Wesley officially asked me if I would be his girlfriend. Then, as they say, the rest was history. On October 26, 2024, Wesley planned a fun day of all of my favorite things: breakfast with my parents, a small little workout, lunch at Olive Garden, and a beautiful drive through the Virginia mountains. I had no idea where we were driving to, but we both enjoyed the God-filled conversation on the way through the mountains. Wesley had planned for a short hike through this state park, which was a complete surprise to me. The funny thing was that Wesley had never been there before, so it was an adventure for both of us. Wesley had been planning this for months. Of course, I was very suspicious by this point, wondering when/what was going to happen. Then the moment I was waiting for happened: Wesley got down on one knee, gave a lovely and heartfelt speech, and asked me to marry him. There was no hesitation from me to say yes, and as Wesley got up, he turned to reveal that he hired a photographer. We had a lovely photoshoot of our engagement right after to capture the excitement and the joy of the moment we had been talking about for about a year. We were overjoyed to announce it to our close family and friends. The hour-long drive back to Lynchburg was filled with so much laughter and prayer from loved ones. And now, we are here; you are here reading our love story on our wedding website.
