With the freedom that accompanies living in off-campus housing, Ben and his roommates threw a party at their UW–Madison apartment and invited their friend Boehrer, who invited Candace's friend Karolina, who subsequently invited Candace. That chance chain of invites led to the beginning of their friendship, and a year later their adventure together as a couple began.
Before moving from Chicago to Pittsburgh, Ben and Candace vacationed to Bordighera, Italy, spending lovely time with friends and family. One evening while admiring the sunset together, Ben got down on one knee and asked Candace to marry him. It was an easy yes and a memory to always remember!
Although their original plans for a big wedding were foiled by COVID-19, Ben and Candace decided to still get legally married in 2020 rather than postpone both their marriage and celebration. On December 18, 2020, they, in the presence of five family members, got married outside during a freezing, five-minute ceremony. It is always a unique story to tell!
After two and a half years of planning, postponing, and adapting, the wedding of Candace and Ben’s dreams finally happened on their one year anniversary. Surrounded by friends and family, they had a ceremony and party they will never forget. Thank you to everyone who made the entire celebration so very special!
