As is typical with late 20-somethings in the midst of engagements and weddings, Jon and Keely often discussed marriage, and the tradition of a wife taking her husband's last name. Unsure she wanted to change hers, Jon assured Keely he had a solution: he would change HIS name, and they would be Keely Morris and Keely Miller, aka The Keelys!
We met at Three Sheets Saloon in the West Village. Jon bought Keely a shot of tequila, and, well, you know the rest...
I had just finished a race in Central Park, and we were walking to the 4/5/6 trains. We passed by a Pottery Barn, and I thought to myself "ha, every time I see a Pottery Barn it reminds me of that Friends episode..." Then Jon laughed, turned to me, and said, "Every time I see Pottery Barn I think of that Friends episode where Rachel and Ross buy all the same furniture and she lies to Phoebe." I couldn't stop laughing, and that's when I knew.
The night we met. In a cab, Keely started making references to Friends and immediately I knew that she was special. Then I followed her Twitter and the bio was “My friends think I’m their weirdest friend”. I was hooked.
