Ashley went to college with Jenny, Ben's sister and they became best friends. Ashley and Ben followed each other for years on Instagram before actually meeting. Ashley always told Jenny how cute she thought her brother was and fast forward a few years, in December of 2018, Ashley went to Jenny's home town to go Christmas shopping and have dinner with some friends. That night, Ben and his (now) Best Men, Matt and Trent, met up with the group at the local bar, Sling Shots, in Cameron Park. After that night, Ashley and Ben knew early on that they had something special.

The couple planned a trip to Maui for Ashley's 30th birthday in June 2021 with Ashley's parents, Rowdy and Dina, and her sister, Carly, and her boyfriend, Ruben. Ashley hoped that Ben would ask her to marry him in Maui but dismissed the idea after she (per usual) packed his suitcase for him and was left unattended in the hotel room multiple times. In her mind, clearly, he wasn't trying to hide anything! On the third day of the trip, the group went to explore the Road to Hana. Ben had planned to propose at the Seven Sacred Pools, which is known to be one of the most beautiful stops on the road. However, Ashley, being the planner that she is, refused to go there and told Ben and the group it was too far and that they didn't have time. Ben improvised with the help of his ultimate wing-man, Ruben, and they found a beautiful waterfall along the way. Ashley was completely surprised! They spent the rest of the trip celebrating. Maui will always hold a special place in their heart and this trip will be unforgettable!

On May 14th, 2022, Ashley and Ben will join their lives together forever in the presence of all of their friends and family from near and far! Located in Camino, California, the venue embodies the outdoorsy feel that the couple loves so much.
