Hyde Park is home to FDR's birthplace, grave, and presidential library. If you go to Hyde Park also consider getting reservations at the CIA (no, not that CIA- the Culinary Institute of America.) They have several restaurants on the campus.
If you're looking for a spa and some relaxation the Menla Retreat is heaven on earth.
Kingston was the first capitol city of New York during the Revolutionary War. Check out the cute colonial houses and restaurants downtown. Le Canard Enchaine (the restaurant where we officially became a couple <3), Lola Pizza, Rough Draft Bar & Bookstore are all favorites of ours. Take a walk down to the Roundout and have a drink at one of the bars on the water!
