I remember my first interaction with Kayleigh. It was her first day with the Arizona Coyotes. She watched me stumble my way through a sale on the phone. She made me so nervous I forgot to ask for the credit card and I told her that is “not what to do”. Fast forward a few months, we became co-worker friends (which was my way of trying not to be a creep and immediately scare the new part-time rep). I finally got the courage to text Kayleigh and go out for friendly drinks after work on a Tuesday. I got the best response of my life, “Kinda, today?” We started the night with some wine and spicy meatballs. After we polished everything off it was time to make our way to the cocktail bar. It was literally Christmas in April because all the drinks were Christmas-themed. Just before we were going to call it a night, the performer, who’s business card I still have on the fridge to this day (shoutout E.T Mobley from Funkism Production), gave a gift that Old St. Nick could only dream he could have in his sack…Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason". The rest as they say is history. Every day since April 3rd, 2017 has been better than the last. Can’t wait to give Kayleigh one more reason every day until forever!
Jonathan and I first met back in 2017 while we both worked in ticket sales for the Arizona Coyotes. I had moved across country from Omaha on a whim for this part-job. Jonathan was a tenured rep by the time I started, so I was told to shadow him. I remember one of the first days, he was going through a sale and apparently I had "distracted" him enough to where he skipped a step and had to ask his client if he can call him back and proceeded to explain that was an example of what not to do lol. I quickly realized how sweet, kind, yet silly he was. After about a year of being work friends, Jonathan finally worked up the courage to text me (as my desk was approximately 3 feet behind his) to get drinks on a random Tuesday. We went to a wine bar in Scottsdale which led to a little mid-week bar hop. Towards the end of the night as our responsibilities for the next day started to cross our mind, we decided to call an Uber. Just as the Uber was about to arrive, Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason" started to play. I started singing and expressed my love for this song and it only felt right to cancel the Uber and shut the bar down... & well, the rest is history! It was well worth the $5 cancellation fee and stares at work the next morning :)
