Things To Do

The city of Philadelphia is known as the birthplace of our country! Being the home of the National Constitution Center, the Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall, there's no shortage of attractions in the city. BUT, we've listed some of our favorite places and things to do in the greater Philadelphia area below.
Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens

1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348
, (610) 388-1000

Chris and I have been to Longwood several times and it is absolutely beautiful!! It's nearby, and you can get tickets online ahead of time. They do have timing restrictions because of COVID, so we suggest buying tickets a week or two before you'd like to go once we know what the weather will be like. Definitely a must-do!!

Kelly Drive

Kelly Drive

Kelly Drive/Boathouse Row, Philadelphia, PA

Kelly Drive is a park and road that runs along the Schuylkill River, home of the Dad Vail Regatta. (Adrianna raced many times down that river during her college rowing career!) Kelly drive is also the location of the well-known "Boathouse Row", a stretch of the river with some beautiful college rowing boathouses! Kelly Drive is a great place for a walk or a run if you want to spend a day visiting the city! (FUN FACT: at the end of Kelly Drive is the Philadelphia Art Museum, home of the iconic steps climbed by the "Italian Stallion" - better known as Rocky Balboa. You can even take a picture next to his statue!)

Kitchen Kettle Village

Kitchen Kettle Village

3529 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gordonville, PA 17529
, (717) 768-8261

Chris and I love going to Kitchen Kettle Villiage! It's right in Amish country, and there are lots of local shops and food. Great place for a chill day and the drive through Amish country is beautiful!

Philadelphia Flower Show

Philadelphia Flower Show

1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107
, (215) 988-8800

The Philadelphia Flower Show is going to be right after our wedding this year! It runs from June 5-13. Details about hours and tickets are on the website. Also, there is a train that runs straight from Thorndale (near Chris's parents' house) into the Convention Center if you don't want to deal with city parking!

Valley Forge National Historical Park

Valley Forge National Historical Park

1400 North Outer Line Drive, King of Prussia, PA 19406
, (610) 783-1077

Valley Forge is a great place for a little bit of fresh air and history. There are lots of trails and bike paths, and it's close enough to the King of Prussia mall to go grab a bite to eat or do a little bit of shopping!

Phillies Game

Phillies Game

1 Citizens Bank Way, Philadelphia, PA 19148
, (215) 463-1000

The weekend after our wedding, the Phillies will be hosting the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. It's never a bad day to catch a game at the ballpark!
