Joey and I met through mutual friends. My girlfriend from college, Alex (now wife of Joe's friend Brad) was hanging out with Brad, Joey, and some of the boy's other friends in Rochester, and she invited me over to join because she knew it was close to home and we hadn't seen each other in forever. A few days later, I asked Joe on our first date!
Joey proposed on a Tuesday night. We had made plans to go stargazing that night after dinner. On the way to our spot, we stopped to get ice cream. Right when we got there, my sister called and said she was upset and was going to come meet us, which I didn't think anything of. Little did I know, Joey had asked her to call me and make something up so she could be there to take pictures of his proposal. Whenever I had pestered Joe about getting married, I always told him I wanted a apron to bake in that said 'Mrs. J." To my surprise, he had the apron made, as well as a monogrammed heating bag with my new initials. He gave me the box with the gifts in it and at first I got angry, because I didn't realize the initials on the corn bag were mine and I was confused as to who he was making these gifts for. After about a minute of looking between the gifts and Joe, I finally realized he was down on one knee, and then he asking me to marry him. Again, I was sporting sweatpants, glasses, and a ponytail. Joey proposed with the diamond from my mom's engagement ring!
