The Groom

How I met Jen

Back in 2010, I attended Essex County College with Jen and from the day I set my eyes on her, I knew I wanted her. I would see her in the library and stare not having the courage to speak to her, but one day as she stepped to speak to one of her friends who sat next to me, I used that opportunity to say HI!. That “Hi” developed into a friendship, we would hang out with mutual friends in school and so on. In April 2012 before I asked Jennifer to be my girlfriend, I told her brother who is my friend about it and he said, “go for it bro”, the rest was history. Fast forward to September 1st 2018, I asked Jen to come with me on a mini vacation to Los Angeles, California little did she know it was all a plan. On that same day we arrived, we headed to Malibu for dinner later that evening. Once we got to the restaurant, I got down on one knee and popped the question and the answer has finally evolved to this moment and can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with the one God has designed for me. I love you forever and a day!

How i met Sam

I met sam in 2010 at Essex county college and he was a friend of my brother Kingsley. We also had a lot of Mutual friends. Sam was always in the library (he is a chronic bookworm lol). I met him at the library one day in 2011, and he said Hi, are you Slim’s sister’? (Slim is my brother’s Nickname), and I told him, ‘my name is not slim’s sister, my name is Jennifer’. He laughed at that and from then on he always said hello to me when we meet at school. Sam was always calm, always willing to help, and was a great friend. We officially started dating in 2012 and we have been inseparable since then. After we both graduated from Essex County college, he applied to the school I got accepted to (Richard Stockton College) so we can both attend the same school which we both graduated from in 2014. He later left for Chicago in 2016 to further his education and I applied for my masters program at the same time (I think I did this at that time just to kill time and keep myself occupied while he was away in another state.. yikes!!). After his graduation, he moved back to Jersey, and I graduated a few months later as well. Sam is my best friend, my turn up partner, and my travel Buddy. He loves traveling as much as I do and this makes us the perfect duo. It was on one of our trips to Malibu California he popped the question. I couldn’t be more happy. He chose me, and I’ll chose him over and over again. I have not gained just a life partner, but a best friend for life. I am in awe as God’s plans for us continue to unfold. Our cup shall be full till overflow. I cannot wait to officially say ‘I do’ in the presence of God, our Family, and Friends. Nkem, you’re the love of my life, and I will love you until my last breath and beyond.
