How we met

We've been brushing our teeth together for years

If you ask Aubrey how we met, she will tell you that Megan was the grumpy girl in her dorm who never said hi at the bathroom sink before 8am classes at Baldwin Wallace. Technically our story began 10 years ago in Findley Hall, but our story actually began when we were re-introduced by a mutual friend (hi Alex!) in January of 2018. Neither of us were looking for a relationship, which is why we exchanged exactly 3 texts the next day and then didn't speak again for a week. But sometimes (most times) life doesn't really care much what you're looking for or what you want, and we're so thankful for that. A week later, Megan invited Aubrey over for her infamous Superbowl party. Aubrey decided on a whim to stop by, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Proposal

Proposing in a pandemic 101

The proposal planning started in February of 2020. It was going to be simple and intimate, with friends and family around after to celebrate with and hug, and then in March the world shut down. After plan B, Plan C, and Plan D came and went, Megan decided that there was no time like the present. She ordered about 600 tea light candles, and went to work trying to create an unforgettable moment in the place they'd been hunkered down for the past 3 months, their living room. When Aubrey got home from work on May 11th, she opened the door to a fire hazard in the form of hundreds of candles lining their entryway and hallway, leading her to a book. In the book, Megan had outlined the story of the proposal, including screenshots of text reactions from all of their closest friends and family. Once Aubrey had finished reading about the lead up this moment, she made her way into the living room where Megan waited, surrounded by even more candles. After she said YES, they went into the kitchen where freshly poured sparkling waters were waiting for them to cheers and make it official.
