Our wedding evening will be formal. Please wear a dark suit, tuxedo, floor-length gown or formal cocktail dress. It will be beautiful this time of year in South Florida but it may be chilly in the evening! *Thick heels are highly recommended* Don't want to buy a formal gown? Totally get it. The bride suggests renting from Rent The Runway! You can get a free backup dress in two sizes with your first rental on www.renttherunway.com.
We love your kids, we really do! But we want our wedding to be an evening for you to let loose and have some fun. So call in those babysitting favors (in-laws, we are looking at you!) and let's hit the dance floor! Our wedding will be 21+ with the exception of the Groom's Sister, who is in the wedding party.
Yes! We are having a full, open bar to be enjoyed by our wedding guests responsibly so tip your 'tenders! And we ask that our guests bring a few dollars to participate in the beloved Money Dance...
The money dance is a cultural tradition at many wedding receptions where guests offer the newlyweds money to dance with them. The custom is to help establish the couple in their new life together, or to show how much they are loved and appreciated. As this is a traditional wedding reception activity for the Bride's Pittsburgh family, we will be having a Money Dance! Bring loose cash to offer to either the Bride or Groom in exchange for a shot to share with the couple.
Another Pittsburgh tradition, born out of the Great Depression, is the Cookie Table. Initially started as a way to save money, now it is a beloved tradition of personally baking and donating hundreds of dozens of cookies to the couple's wedding spread. Our wedding will be no different, complete with cookies from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and family-baked varieties as well.
If your formal invitation reads "And Guest," then please bring your favorite person to celebrate with us. We are sure we will love them! If your invitation simply reads your name, we are excited to celebrate with you independently. When you go to RSVP on the website, it will be clear if you have been offered a plus one.
We are asking our guests to refrain from using personal phones at the ceremony.
