We met in the emergency room at Community Regional Hospital. Michelle, an ER nurse and Phill, a neurosurgery PA. Our conversation started with Phill noticing Michelle's cup with a dog sticker on it. After some conversation about our dogs, our first date was settled on taking our dogs for a walk. Phill showed up to Michelle's house to start the walk... without a dog. Michelle almost closed the door, but Uli, Michelle's Great Dane, warmly welcomed Phill by gently taking his hat, he held out to her and inviting him in. Our second date we decided to hike half dome together in Yosemite National Park. A month or so later we went on a 11-day road trip starting with a visit to the Jennrich family in Lake Forest, then to a 4 day back packing trip through the Havasupai Indian Reservation in Arizona, a quick stop in Las Vegas for a shower and watching Phill waste his money on slot machines, then Zion National Park in Utah before heading back home. The adventures have continued with ski trips in Lake Tahoe, Big Sky Montana, Park City Utah, Banff Canada, and our personal favorite, Jackson Hole Wyoming, where Phill proposed to Michelle in front of Jackson Lake with the best group of friends who have all been a huge part of our love story along with our loving families.
